Lenox Dale, MA—October 21, 2020—The Montessori School of the Berkshires has kicked off the school year with Altitude Learning to bring students, ages 3-14, a robust, learner-centered, Montessori experience virtually. The partnership is currently serving a cohort of students enrolled in remote learning, with a long-term vision to leverage Altitude Learning’s learner-centered platform to further empower all learners with increased agency.
Guided by its deeply learner-centered Global Montessori approach, MSB is on the forefront of reimagining the Montessori experience in a virtual environment. Building upon insights from distance learning in the spring, MSB sought a user-friendly solution that would empower learners with agency, increase visibility of progress toward learning targets, and offer a customizable taxonomy of learning objectives and scoring scale to best support the Montessori model. With Altitude Learning, in addition to gaining a comprehensive platform aligned to the school’s vision for learning, MSB has the support of a responsive success team that guides the team with onboarding through to addressing short and long term goals and objectives.

Shifting a deeply rooted, in-person Montessori learning experience to a virtual environment is a complex task, and MSB is pleased to have a platform that enables them to translate their Montessori lessons into Cards that can deliver curated materials to help families of small children access lessons typically done in-person. So far, feedback from families has been very positive around the ease of accessing learning at home and the continuity of learning, even in this unprecedented school year.”
