In October, we shared the news that Altitude Learning’s reach had grown to over one million learners across our growing and thriving network of learner-centered school and district partners— among them, our longstanding partner Higher Ground Education. Last week, we shared a press release announcing the sale of the Altitude Learning platform to Higher Ground, where our product and engineers will continue to develop the depth and breadth of the technology. All this has paved the way for Altitude Learning to deepen its focus on catalyzing the shift to learner-centered education and expanding the learner-centered ecosystem through services and solutions—including professional learning, coaching, strategic consulting, and partner support—for schools, districts, and systems.
While the technology platform may no longer reside in-house, the high-quality services and support Altitude Learning provides its partners remain our top priority. And we are poised to increase our impact as a technology-enabled services organization to both current partners and an ever-growing cohort of schools and districts across the country.
As a team with deep educator roots spanning the classroom to the Superintendent’s office, Altitude Learning is uniquely equipped to support schools, districts, and systems to redesign their instructional models and implement changes at scale. Leveraging an ecosystem approach, we build upon a learning community’s unique strengths and needs and match them with the appropriate offerings in our breadth of professional learning services, technological solutions, and pedagogical resources.

Education is at a critical juncture and experiencing an accelerated rate of change. Comprehensive support for schools, districts, and systems paving their paths forward is critical. With our focus on expanding the learner-centered ecosystem and Higher Ground’s increased investment in the ongoing development of the platform, together we are broadening the impact of world-class services and technology that empower all learners to reach their full potential.
We are thrilled to move into leadership positions with Devin Vodicka as Altitude Learning’s Chief Executive Officer and Katie Martin as Chief Impact Officer. Ben Kornell, outgoing Chief Executive Officer, will join Higher Ground to ensure continuity of operations, as well as to directly support the two organizations’ shared platform vision.
On a personal note, throughout our careers, we have been inspired by our students and by our fellow educators. Now is the time for us to connect, to learn together, and to build a brighter future together. We look forward to being your partners on the journey.
