Changing students’ learning experiences starts with changing professional learning experiences. In this edWebinar for school and district leaders, panelists will share a competency-based approach to professional learning that builds internal capacity into schools and districts scaling their learner-centered practices. This competency-based model for professional learning starts with a rubric-based self-assessment of current pedagogical practices to inform goal-setting. From there, learners engage in relevant, contextualized, and personalized learning pathways. The result? Professional learning experiences that drive meaningful change and establish a model and learning cycles for both professional and student learning throughout a district or school. Attendees will gain a framework for impactful professional learning, learn about assessment tools and strategies that support and inform a competency-based approach to learning, and hear from school leaders using the model.
